Glen Canyon, Arizona is just downriver from the Page Dam. A guided float trip on the Colorado River reveals a stunning view of the canyons leading to the Grand Canyon. This 20" x 24" oil painting on canvas shows the great height of the canyon walls and the cold blue-green water of the Colorado River.

The Maroon Bells, named for its bell-shaped peaks, is located just outside the ski resort area of Aspen, Colorado. This 24" x 36" painting is acrylic on canvas, gallery wrapped. The painting includes wildflowers and Canada Geese.

This 36" x 48" acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas depicts the Grand Canyon as seen from the south rim. The sun is setting and the rock faces are blazing with color as deep blue-purple shadows fall away to the right. This painting is just large enough to capture the scope of this breathtaking scene. This piece is an award winner.

This acrylic painting on canvas is large. At 40" x 64", it can add a dramatic element to room with adequate wall space. This is an original composition that is based on actual places such as Rocky Mountain National Park and the Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls. The sun shines through the high cloud cover and illuminates the lower clouds rolling through the mountain peaks. A moose, foraging for aquatic vegetation in the lower right is caught in the bright sun.

This is an impression of Yosemite Valley, painted in realistic style. For dramatic effect, the mountain peaks have been resized and regrouped to form a composition that brings everything forward. The granite monolith of El Capitan is on the left and Bridalveil Fall is on the right. Half Dome is in the center. The painting is oil on canvas 29" x 45".

This is a small acrylic painting on canvas. It's only 5" x 7", but makes a big statement about the imposing nature of the American Bison. I found an impressive herd of bison at Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. This seemed to be the dominant male.

This is also a small 5" x 7" acrylic painting on canvas. It shows an adult male grizzly bear that I found in Montana. Even though small, it is finely detailed.
